Meet the MIALAB Optical Lab Team

Michael Martinez is the Vice President of Sales and Operations at Mialab.

Michael began working in the laboratory at the age of 14, giving him firsthand experience with nearly every part of the optical manufacturing process. Over the years, he developed a deep understanding of lens production, laboratory operations, sales, customer service, and the challenges independent optical practices face. His knowledge has been shaped by hands-on experience, independent study, and guidance from accomplished mentors throughout the optical industry. He later earned his bachelor’s degree from Nova Southeastern University.

In his current role, Michael helps guide sales, customer relationships, laboratory operations, marketing, business development, technology, and product development. Working across these areas gives him a broad view of how decisions made inside the laboratory ultimately affect the eye care professionals and patients who depend on its work.

Michael is especially passionate about supporting independent opticians, optometrists, and optical practices. He believes they deserve a laboratory partner that is accessible, dependable, and willing to understand the individual needs of their business. His long-term vision is to expand Mialab beyond South Florida while preserving the relationships, service, quality, and attention to detail that have defined the company for decades.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys reading and learning about business, mathematics, marketing, and human behavior. He values meaningful relationships, learning from people with different experiences, and applying new ideas to both his personal and professional life.
